Kvika named best Investment Management Company in Iceland for third year running

Verdlaun_mynd-1Kvika Asset Management has won the World Finance Investment Management Award for the third year in a row.

Britain's World Finance magazine has designated Kvika as the best asset management company in Iceland in 2016. Each year, World Finance nominates companies for outstanding performance in a number of areas, and this is the third consecutive year that Kvika has won the award for Best Investment Management Company in Iceland. The assessment is based on factors such as performance, growth, product development, attitude towards risk, and social responsibility.

In the past three years, assets under management by Kvika have roughly doubled. The merger of MP banki and Straumur to form Kvika, which took place about a year ago, further strengthened the Bank's foundations. Kvika's mainstay is its strong asset management, where it provides comprehensive banking services to depositors in domestic and foreign markets.

Other banks receiving the award this year included Danske Capital in Denmark, Skagen Funds in Norway, and Axa Investment Management in Sweden.

Sigurður Hannesson in an interview with World Finance

The most recent edition of World Finance contains an interview with Sigurður Hannesson, managing director of asset management, on the recent economic recovery in Iceland, the successful development of capital markets, favourable conditions for capital account liberalisation, and Kvika's strong asset management team. Sigurður says, among other things, that the robust economic recovery confirms that original and unconventional strategy-building can produce outstanding results.

He says that the asset management team at Kvika has a combined total of more than 100 years' experience in provision of asset management services for clients. “We place primary emphasis on effective management, and we consider adaptability and appropriate responses to differing market conditions to be key factors for success. In order to ensure success, we therefore need an experienced team that knows the market and can respond to changes in the market environment.”
