Thomas Skov Jensen

Deputy board member

Thomas Skov Jensen was appointed to the bank’s board as an alternate member in March 2025. Thomas was born in 1972. He holds an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from DTU in Denmark from 1998 and an MBA from Reykjavik University from 2008. He is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM). Today Thomas is the Managing Director of Construction Services at Ístak, where he is also a member of the company’s Executive Board.

Prior to joining Ístak, Thomas spent over 16 years at Kvika banki and the bank’s predecessors, between the years 2007-2023, where he, among other things, served as Chief Risk Officer and was a member of the Executive Committee. Before that he served as project manager at EFLA from 2001-2007. In addition to his executive roles, Thomas has held various board and committee appointments. He has served on the Audit Committee of Birta Pension Fund since 2024, was a member of the Board of Directors of TM from 2024 to 2025, and a member of the Board of Directors of Netgíró between 2017 and 2018.

Thomas controls 1,666,667 shares in Kvika through his private limited company, Millicent ehf., but does not have interest links with major clients, competitors, or large shareholders in the sense of the corporate governance guidelines. Thomas is, however, not considered independent from the bank in the understanding of the guidelines, since he held the position of Chief Risk Officer until the year 2023.
