Páll Harðarson
Board member
Páll Harðarson was appointed to the bank’s Board of Directors in March 2025. He was born in 1966. Páll holds a Ph.D. degree in economics from Yale University and a B.A. degree in economics from Macalester College. Pall served as BU CFO of Nasdaq Trading Services from 2023 to 2024 and BU CFO of European Markets at Nasdaq from 2019 to 2023. Prior to these roles, Páll served as CEO of Nasdaq Iceland from 2011 to 2019, and as Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer from 2002 to 2011. He also worked as an economist at the National Economic Institute of Iceland from 1999 to 2002.
Páll has extensive experience as a board member, having served on the boards of various companies and organizations, including the Nasdaq stock exchanges in the Nordic countries. Páll owns 700,000 shares in Kvika. Páll does not have any interests in major business entities, competitors, or large shareholders within the meaning of the Guidelines on Corporate Governance and is independent from the company.
