Executive Committee

Armann Thorvaldsson joined Kvika as CEO of Kvika in August 2023. He previously worked as CEO in 2017 - 2019 and Deputy CEO of the bank in the years 2019 - 2022.

Mr. Thorvaldsson has worked in the financial markets for over twenty years. From 1997 until 2005 he was Head of Corporate Finance at Kaupthing and in 2005 until 2008 he was CEO of Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander in London. Later Mr. Thorvaldsson worked at Ortus Secured Finance in London until 2015 when he joined Virding. Mr. Thorvaldsson headed up Virding´s Corporate Finance division before joining Kvika. 

Mr. Thorvaldsson has an MBA degree from Boston University and a BA degree in history from the University of Iceland.

Ármann Þorvaldsson

Sigurður Viðarsson has been the CEO of TM Insurance since October 2007 and has significant experience in the insurance sector. Prior to joining TM Insurance, he was the deputy CEO and Director of Financial and Insurance Services at Vörður líftryggingar hf. 

Sigurður has a BSc degree in Business Administration from the University of Iceland.

Sigurður Viðarsson

Anna Rut holds a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration and an MCF degree in corporate finance from Reykjavík University and has completed a degree in securities trading. 

Anna Rut has worked within the Kvika Group since 2007. Anna Rut was Head of Kvika's Office from 2017-2019, Head of Kvika's Business Relations from 2015-2017 and Head of Credit Risk at Straumur Investment Bank hf. from 2011-2015. In addition, Anna Rut has been involved in various projects in the fields of lending, asset management and finance. Anna Rut took over the position of Director of Operations and Development in April 2022.

Anna Rut Ágústsdóttir

Birkir was appointed the CEO of TM in April 2023.

Prior to joining TM, Birkir was the CFO and COO of the insurance company VÍS. Birkir also worked as the the CFO and COO of payments company Valitor, in Corporate Finance at Arion Bank and as an attorney at Attorneys at Höfðabakki.

Birkir has a master´s degree law from the University of Iceland, a master's degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Reykjavík and is completing an AMP program at IESE buisness school in Barcelona. In addition, Birkir has completed certifications as a securities broker and as a district court lawyer.

Birkir Jóhannsson

Bjarni Eyvinds has worked in the financial markets for over 15 years. Mr. Eyvinds joined Kvika in 2009 and took over as Managing Director of Capital Markets in 2010. 

Prior to joining Kvika, Mr. Eyvinds served as Senior Vice president of Equity of sales in Straumur Investment Bank. Previously, he worked for MP Investment Bank administrating the division of Capital Markets and Proprietary Trading. After graduation, Mr. Eyvinds began working for Spron, where he worked in asset management and later his own business. 

Mr. Eyvinds holds a BBA degree from George Washington University and has completed a degree in securities brokerage.

Bjarni Eyvinds

Eiríkur Magnús Jensson was appointed CFO of Kvika in December 2022. Prior to joining the Issuer, Eiríkur worked for Arion banki as Head of Treasury from 2019, Head of funding between 2010 and 2019, and in Arion's fund management subsidiary Stefnir between 2008 and 2010. Eiríkur worked for Kaupthing Bank in Group Treasury between 2005 and 2008 as funding manager and as Head of Funding, and for Kaupthing's asset management and research between 1998 and 2003. Eiríkur graduated as MBA from Rotterdam School of Management in 2005 and Csc in Mechanical and industrial engineering from the University of Iceland in 1998. Eiríkur is a certified securities broker.

Eiríkur Magnús Jensson

Hannes Frímann Hrólfsson has worked for the Group since 2012, first as CEO of Auður Capital (later Virðing hf.) which merged with the Issuer in 2017.  Prior to that, Hannes was the Managing Director and co-founder of Tindar Securities and a deputy managing director of treasury and capital markets at Arion banki and Kaupþing bank. 

Hannes holds a Cand. oecon degree in Business Administration from the University of Iceland. He is a certified securities broker and holds an ACI Dealing certificate.

Lilja Jensen has worked for Kvika and its predecessor since 2012 and as General Counsel since 2015. Prior to that, Lilja worked for LOGOS legal services, intermittently from 2008 to 2012 along with law studies and following graduation. Prior to legal work, Lilja worked as a nurse at the National University Hospital of Iceland and Eir nursing home. 

Lilja holds a BSc degree in nursing from the University of Iceland, BA and ML degree in law from Reykjavik University and is licensed to plead cases before the district courts of Iceland.

Halldór completed his M.Sc. degree in engineering management from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 2014 and graduated from the University of Iceland with a B.Sc. degree in industrial engineering in 2003 as well as having completed a degree in securities trading.

Halldór has over two decades of experience in the financial market and has been with Kvika since 2015. He has been Director of Operations for the last four years and was previously a specialist in Kvika's Treasury. Between 2014 and 2015, Halldór was Director of Finance and Operations at the health tech startup Sidekick Health. He was Director of Treasury at MP Bank for seven years between 2006 and 2012, and before that he worked in Risk Management at Kaupþing and Búnaðarbanki Íslands.

Halldór Snæland

Elisabet has been with Kvika bank since 2021, where she led the bank‘s market funding. Elisabet‘s prior work experience includes working at J.P. Morgan where she worked for ten years in risk management, first in New York managing the bank's market- and counterparty risk, and later in London where she managed a trading book with credit default swaps and syndicated loans. Upon returning home in 2017, Elísabet joined Landsbankinn's treasury department before moving to  Kvika. 

Elísabet is a financial engineer and completed her master's degree at Cornell University in 2008 and her B.Sc. degree in civil engineering from the University of Iceland in addition to having completed a degree in securities trading and diploma studies as an authorized board member.
